Different Differences

I discovered my new favorite song of 2010 (Well, second favorite after OMG. Don't judge me.)

Might I add that the red-bone who enters at 1:08 is delectable. While watching the video, I got a sense of deja vu. That comes from the fact that the video is strongly reminiscent of one of my favorite songs/videos, "Can't Stop" by the Red Hot Chili Peppers.

Look, they're both artsy-fartsy, weird and look like they were filmed in warehouses. Go eat yourself.

Well, point is, there are videos I've noticed over time that seem to imitate (see bite off of) other videos before it.

Rihanna "Rude Boy" imitates M.I.A. "Boyz"

If it's not obvious, you need to hop off Rihanna's dick. However, Robyn Fenty's version has better production value, less emphasis on men and more emphasis on making my pants tighter.

Rihanna "Disturbia" imitates Nine Inch Nails "Closer"

Strange, dim setting. Pasty faced humans. Jacob's Ladder style filming. However, Nine Inch Nails actually succeeds in making me totally uncomfortable watching this by myself or with company. They also succeed in making a better song. They could've just said "I wanna fuck you like an animal" the whole song and I'd like it, so my tastes aren't exactly meant to be respected. Rihanna also needs to get more creative directors.

Ne-Yo "Mad" imitates Nickelback "Someday"

Nickelback got totally swiped. These are the music video versions of the two Death at a Funerals; the original is considered better and the only reason the new one is accepted is because it has black people in it.

Glass Half Full

Photobucket

Yeah, so I haven't been "blogging" a lot. Whatever. I wanted to do a solid(||) for the dude 810. I told him a while ago that I would post him on the blog being that he's a Baltimore native and he doesn't suck.

He just dropped his mixtape Glass Half Full yesterday. I haven't listened to it yet, but it's been getting rave reviews. Seriously, check this guy out.

I'm going to start posting again. No, for real.

Eric <3's Hip-Hop 2

- So Charles Hamilton took another L after the video of his assistant Briana Latrise, stepdaughter of Mary J. Blige, gave him a mean right to the face. Although they reconciled immediately after, this is still a bad look. In my opinion, getting punched in the face by a female isn't that bad. It's the damn Pink Panther that was on his arm. Whether they had that little rap battle and he got Chuck Liddell'd or not, the video still probably would've circulated with the doll on his arm. He just wouldn't have been a trending topic on twitter.

I'd just like to say, I don't understand why a bunch of dudes come out of nowhere talking about they would've beat her up. Two months ago, niggas were talking about how much of a bitch Chris Brown is for hitting Rihanna. Apparently, if a female gives you a humiliating mollywhop, it's okay to hit females. Let's be realistic, most of these niggas being e-thugs probably caught a jab from a man and just walked away. At least Charles Hamilton didn't hit her back.

- I see now that Drake is gaining momentum, a lot of people are (I hate this word) hating on him. It's true. I don't fuck with his music like that, but he's doing something right. It trips me out how if a rapper has hella female fans, all of a sudden you're a fag for listening to him. I mean, come on. If I could rap like I want and have 80 percent of my fans rocking pussies, then I'd go for it. I like vaginas.

- I don't know who Dolla is. Nor do I care.

- Chris Brown opening for Michael Jackson? I mean, they're both practically criminals.

- Yo, I saw a picture of Rihanna. Her hair looked like Kazuya Mishima's.

- Check out Theo Martins x $port's track "Checkin' In"

- Also, my homeboy Malcolm Maximillion put out his track over "You Don't Know My Name" here.

- Look, don't complain about bad music after I just gave you some gems.

Phony PPL

So that guy Dyme-A-Duzin I posted a while ago? He started a band with his friends and guess what? They don't suck! That means you should go listen to them.

Fuck with these kids. FUCK WITH EM.

I love this woman

Janelle Monae Pictures, Images and Photos

I've come to the conclusion that if I ever go to a Janelle Monae show and sit in the front row, I have to cover my eyes. If she points at me, I'm going to pass out and Baltimore people don't pick each other up.

I Make Beats, Remember?

It's just a snippet of a song I made using "Still Alive" from Mirror's Edge.

Edge of the Mirror(snippet) - E-Rich

If you were here for a while, you might have seen when I attempted to post my beats on the side, but I figured there's no point in trying to force my beats on you if I'm not going to take making beats seriously enough to update all the time.

I'm really liking how this one's coming out so far. It reminds me of "Lost" by Coldplay. Maybe I'll pull a $port and make a mini-EP of beats for your listening pleasure.

What the shit, Lupe?

Japanese Cartoon x Percival Fats(That's Lupe. He threw on a british Beatles accent.)

Invaders Must Die

Heirplanes

Army

Ask my friends, I'm a massive Lupe Fiasco stan. I won't argue with some dipshits on forums about it, nor do I think he can do no wrong, but I'm a big stupid ass fan. I enjoy his little deviation from the norm, but this might take some getting use if he plans on continuing with this. The only song so far I can say I like is Army. Everyone's on Heirplanes dick, but I'm not quite feeling it yet. I might be the only one that feels this way, but I want to hear an actual Japanese Cartoon song.

Random playlist time

I'm usually not a fan of those "repost" games on myspace and facebook, but my personal favorite is where you just randomly go through songs in your ipod PSP. So, for your entertainment, I'm going to set my shit on shuffle and play the 20 songs that come up.

Stay With Me - Pharrell Williams

Full & Paid - The Cool Kids

Phantom Pt. II - Justice

What Up Man - The Cool Kids

You Know What - N*E*R*D

Coldest Winter - Kanye West

Brazilian Crying Season - Charles Hamilton

Put Cash Up - Charles Hamilton featuring Show Tufli

Day N Nite - Kid Cudi

Waamp Waamp(EC|DC remix)- Clipse featuring Slim Thug

Random Thoughts on Current Urban Music

- "The coke that I push is pure as a child's heart"
- Malice, "Intro(Play Cloths)"

Are you serious? ARE YOU SERIOUS? Where does he come up with this shit? You don't know whether to say "Damn, that was hot" or "Why the fuck are you comparing cocaine to children's innocence?"

- This might sound ignorant, but the Knux give me a "I like boys" vibe.
I mean, how many heterosexuals make songs about frappucinos?

- I think Tanya Morgan sucks because I thought it was gonna be a hot woman and it was three dudes

- I honestly think Chuck Inglish is one of the best new producers this year.

- "Shontelligence"? That doesn't even deserve to come out of anyone's mouth, even worse be the name of an album

- I was on the fence about buying 808's & Heartbreak until I heard "Streetlights" and the song with Lil Wayne

I don't want that cd near my house.

- Bet money that Common is going to push Universal Mind Control a.k.a Invincible Summer back again. I'm going to be angry if they don't leak "Punch Drunk Love" before then.

- I lost respect for Just Blaze for sampling the Numa Numa song.

- I like Sa-Ra's music and beats and shit, but I don't think Taz Arnold has done enough to have the right to be as weird as he is. Remember when Andre 3000 was a total fucknut? He's nice as shit, though.

- I actually like Crazy World by Young Jeezy. Yes, I said it.

- Where's Yung Berg?

- Where's Saigon?

- I honestly hope no one is surprised that Dedication 3 sucked dick. However, it's nice that Lil Wayne isn't so complacent that he stepped his game up.

"Being fake is pussy, so nigga I'm a virgin"

Hey, that's ya'll boy.

M.I.A. featuring Blaqstarr - S.U.S. (Save Ur Soul)

I will admit that I'm only posting this because of Baltimore bias. Blaqstarr is pretty popular in Baltimore being that he makes club mixes that people actually listen to, and he's just as popular as K-Swift(R.I.P.) and Rod Lee. It's monumental to see him make a song with an artist with such a large cult following.

With all of the positive shit said, this song sucks hella balls. First off, Blaqstarr is basically singing the theme song to the Wire. Second off, They both sound terrible. Blaqstarr sounds like Tone Loc if he inhaled helium and M.I.A is so off key it makes my nuts ache. Third off, I guess the video is innovative in a low-budget way. All they did was record three separate one shots of them singing, pulled them up at the same time, and then recorded them on the monitor.

The one positive to me is the beat. I mean, most people from Baltimore would hear it and be ready to rock off and shit. I wouldn't be surprised if I heard this on 92Q anytime soon.

P.S. I just want to know why Terry Kennedy keeps rapping. He raps as well as he skateboards: Very mediocre and way overestimated by his fans.

T-Pain - Karaoke

Oh, shit, T-Pain went in. I found the intro with him and Kanye hilarious, especially at the end. "I didn't recognize you without the auto-tune" "Oh, Kanye, I didn't recognize you. . . without the auto-tune". It's also purrretty homo to talk to men while they're pissing in a public bathroom. At least wait until you're done urinating.

But yeah, T-Pain is right. The game is currently being over saturated by this auto-tune shit and no, Kanye and Lil Wayne don't get a pass. Especially Lil Wayne. Kanye might get a pass just for 808's & Heartbreak, but Lil Wayne sounds like he's swallowing bees and vibrators when he uses that shit.

What do I think of the Freshmen 10?

Image Hosted by CHANGEME

Cory Gunz - I like this guy. I heard his freestyle on Green Lantern's radio show and I've been a fan. He's nice enough where you wouldn't even pay attention to the fact that Peter Gunz is his dad.

thumbs up friend judgement Pictures, Images and Photos

Blu - I've heard some of the songs from the critically acclaimed Blu & Exile album and he's definitely someone to look out for.

thumbs up friend judgement Pictures, Images and Photos

Mickey Factz - The only thing I've heard from this guy is his little song with the Cool Kids, and sad to say I'm not impressed. Maybe I'll hear some more shit and think he's better.

Image Hosted by CHANGEME

Image Hosted by CHANGEME

Wale - Being that Wale's represents the whole DMV and not just D.C., I've known about dude for a while. I actually heard his song "Rap of the Century" on 93.9 and was like "Whoa, this dude is nice", but I didn't learn it was wale until, like, a year later. If you haven't downloaded "Mixtape About Nothing", you need to hop to it.

thumbs up friend judgement Pictures, Images and Photos

B.O.B. - As I said, I heard about B.O.B a looooooooong time ago. I heard "Cloud Nine" and could hear the promise in this dude. Not to mention he can also play some real instruments, which isn't a bad talent to have in this industry.

thumbs up friend judgement Pictures, Images and Photos

Asher Roth - I think all of this talk of him being a fake Eminem is bullshit. He's a talented rapper and I was impressed with his performance on "Sun God" (The Greenhouse Effect Vol. 1, go download). Not to mention that he professes his love for college regularly.

thumbs up friend judgement Pictures, Images and Photos

Charles Hamilton - See "These are a Few of My Favorite Things.

thumbs up friend judgement Pictures, Images and Photos

Image Hosted by CHANGEME

Ace Hood - Meh. Very meh. I do like his song with Trey Songz, but that's only because of the hook.

Image Hosted by CHANGEME

Curren$y - This dude is painfully overrated. I constantly hear "Oh, Curren$y, the hot spitta", but I haven't heard anything worth putting on my PSP. Not to mention that he's associated with Terry Kennedy and Fly Society, so this nigga gets the thumbs down.

Image Hosted by CHANGEME

Kid Cudi - I downloaded his mixtape and, honestly, I didn't like it. I don't look at Kid Cudi as a rapper, but more like an alternative music type of singer guy. I think he's more Kenna then Lupe Fiasco. However, Day and Nite is stuck in my fucking head.

These Are A Few of My Favorite Things

This might be a long ass post, but to hell with it. I decided I'm going to post some shit I'm REALLY feeling at the moment:

Clothes

Hoon Clothing Leather Jacket

Image Hosted by CHANGEME

This Hoon clothing jacket is sexy. I usually don't mess with leather like that, but I just want to rub that jacket on my chest.

Pokemon 151 Cubone T-Shirt

Image Hosted by CHANGEME

This is a Cubone shirt by a clothing company in Japan called "Pokemon 151". It's a mature brand for all of the Pokemon heads that have grown up with it. Unfortunately, an XL in Japan is like a large in America, so I'm going to have to lose some weight.

Music

Charles Hamilton

Image Hosted by CHANGEME

Charles Hamilton is one of my new favorite rappers, and I'm not just saying that because he reads my blog every now and then. It's nice to not just hear rappers rap about the same shit over and over again, which is what makes other up-and-comers like 88 Keys and Wale stand out. With tracks like "Lacey Duvalle", "Where's my Fucking Genesis" and "Runaway Groom", Charles the Hamilton doesn't disappoint. My current favorite track right now is "Anti-Bullying Zone" (Go download Staff Development. Nigga, google it, I don't feel like finding a link.), because it's nice to listen to when walking alone on a windy day. You can go to his blog right over there. It's on my links. Go ahead.

Janelle Monae

Image Hosted by CHANGEME

I actually first heard Janelle Monae on the Purple Ribbon Army album and vowed that I would buy her album when it came out, but unfortunately I was broke. Now, I have the chance to redeem myself. I thoroughly enjoy the song and video for "Many Moons" and have to applaud her ability to dance like James Brown and keep her bouffant mohawk from flopping to one side. Janelle Monae also has some sort of force field for her beauty that keeps me from making perverse metaphors for the nasty things I'd do to her sexually.

Video Games

Spider-Man: Web of Shadows

Image Hosted by CHANGEME

I already knew soon as I heard about the game that this is going to be a hit that may even surpass Spider-Man 2 as being the best Spider-Man video game. It's actually having an original story crafted for it and after seeing the trailer, my PS3 is pretty horny for this game. The story involves symbiotes (Read up, mortal) practically taking over New York and some of Spidey's friends and enemies being effected.

Dead Space

Image Hosted by CHANGEME

I decided that I would choose this game to pop my survival horror cherry. I'm usually a total pussy when it comes to games like these, but I said "Why the fuck not?". You play a space. . . guy who decided to check out an abandoned ship where the crew as apparently been wiped out. Turns out they were wiped out by some foreign beings called "Necromorphs" which happen to be some of the creepiest motherfuckers this side of "Xenomorphs". Long story short: You're alone, surrounded by aliens, no one can hear you scream. One reviewer even put out an early post before his review to say "This game is scary." I think I have enough money left for some Depends.

T-Pain featuring Ludacris - Chopped and Screwed

I like this video better than "Can't Believe It". This shit is wild and had me tripping out. It doesn't get old to hear T-Pain using the vocoder being that he's the one that brought it back in to popularity, so this song gets a thumbs up from me.

Justice: A Cross the Universe

Well, me liking Justice aside, this DVD looks fucking hard. Like, DMX concert circa 1998 hard.

*sigh* Love Lockdown

Image Hosted by CHANGEME

No, I'm not posting a link to the song, I'm going to give my opinion on this whole thing.

First off, Love Lockdown is probably going to be the most controversial song of Kanye's career thus far, and when I say controversial I don't mean "Jesus Walks" controversial, I mean controversial as in going super far left from the norm. A lot of people are already throwing out their opinions on the song and a majority of them are negative. I'm going to be in the lot of those people.

Now, it's already known a lot of Kanye dickriders are going to do their damndest to defend the song, not to say that anyone that likes it is a dickrider, but a pole-jocker will insult one's being for even thinking that Kanye made a piece of shit. Even when someone says "I've been a Kanye fan, but I just don't like this song", someone will come in and say "Then you're not a true Kanye fan". Apparently, to be a true fan of something you have to not be able to admit that the artist can make some mistakes. Look at Lil Wayne's "fans". He drinks syrup and kisses men and they always have an excuse for that shit. Some have even gone as far as making the passing of Kanye's mother an excuse for "Love Lockdown", which I call bullshit on. A lot of people have lost loved ones and continued to make good music. Once again, I'm not insinuating that Kanye has started sucking due to Love Lockdown, just that it's not a good song.

Finally, auto-tune. That shit needs to stop. I understand that Kanye loves using it and may feel that it's proper for the music he wants to create in this next album, but I can't even remember the last time I heard this dude's voice with out it changing pitch every 1.4 seconds. (That's a lie. I have Celebration on my PSP)

In conclusion, Kanye can do whatever the fuck he wants, he's a grown ass man with more money than me, you, and that guy over there combined. From his perspective, he might just feel that Love Lockdown was the song that hewanted to make for himself and you can either take it or leave it. All in all, though, no, I will not be putting that song on my mp3 playerPlaystation Portable.

Ryan Leslie featuring Fabolous and Kim Porter Jr - My Addiction

. . . The women in this video suck. They must be fashion models.

P.S. I don't mean to offend any females, but seriously, fashion models aren't attractive. Where's the meat!?

Thursday, September 4, 2008

This guy is great. He's great.

I love samples! I love chopping samples! I love chopping samples from cartoons/anime/video games!

EDIT: Another video by the same guy. His dancing is bad ass.
